Nakamichi Rear AMP
Maybe you (or anyone) can help me since you had to replace a Nakamichi SUB amp. The rear speaker's in my SC 400 play at a very low volume..and only in the sub frequency. Luckily, the front speaker's sound great.
I heard that the drain lines for the sun roof may get clogged or kinked below the trunk and cause the amp located up higher to get wet.
Is the rear Nakamichi amp a 3 channel? Or is it a separate SUB AMP, with separate left and right rear AMPS to power the rear deck of OEM speaker's?
I spoke with someone today who said: The OEM head unit output signal to the rear amp is very low compared to the industry standards... like 2.7 units or 270 millamps. He stated that most aftermarket amps need 400 milliamps of pre-amp signal in order to provide enough power to the RCA inputs for most aftermarket amps. A booster may be needed to increase the OEM head unit output to allow it to power most aftermarket AMPS.
I'll check the sunroof drain ports tomorrow and can look at protecting any further electronic's in that area with moisture cover's that also allow for AMP heat ventilation.
Questions: Have you or anyone found a good solution to this problem?
What are the best choice's that we have? Aftermarket source for a used OEM Nackamichi AMP? Repair/refurbishment shop? Head unit signal booster to run a aftermarket AMP? Infinity BasslInk?
Thanks - I played with stereo's year's ago and need a WIZ to give me a updated refresher course.

I may be interested in your Nak AMP. If you replaced the original speaker's and they were in excellent shape, please note your price. I especially need the SUB and two rear's - but would like the fronts also.
