I am desperately searching for a 10" free air sub (non stock, mid-high end) that will fit in the rear deck of SC400 without major modification. Been told IB4 is the best, but nowhere to find it.

You can fit a 12" sub in the stock location by drilling holes to mount the sub, that's all. The mounting bracket for the stock sub takes up 2". I am saying this cuz i have a Kenwood Free Air 12" which i used to replace my stock Nakamichi sub. The Kenwood has a much better overall response than the Nakamichi and i purchased it directly from Kenwood via a Kenwood rep. You can have it for $100 plus shipping. Here's a pic of it installed in my rear deck. PM me if any one is interested.

Will that JL fit in place of the stock sub on the GS? I know jack about audio systems. Do I need an amp to get a measured improvement?
