I think the way it is no is good but wouldn't mind spending more time with members in the spring, the only problem is the distance it takes to get to Ny or NJ and vice versa for you guys coming up to MA. I think this spring it seems like we will have more people in meeting up and going to shows so it will be better. We could start a NE movement though huh?

No problemo TLW. Here are some tips
We started meeting maybe 4 times a year. Just at meets. Then after I got really involved here is what we did (feel free to use)
1. I yearly big meet in the region (ours is always in July)
2. We meet once a month same place, same time every month. Makes it easy for people to remember, even if they don't log on the computer. I found a nice, central location with covered parking if needed (rain). Lots of space. Secluded (not in everyones view) but easy to find with directions. (1st SUndays at 2pm)
3. When we got more people involved we opened up another meed day, Friday nights (Sizzling SELOC Nights). 3rd Fri of the month, 7pm. Another spot (a Starbucks with mgr approval to hang in the parking lot).
That is most important, to get to meets. Then when people added/had more mods and we had some show winners join, they introduced us to shows.
4. Going to shows together. Outside of NOPI, this is really at your leisure. Many have no interest in competing but come to hang out. It is good and bad. Whereas a meet is just leisure, a show, people come to win. Many don't want to be involved in that. Nor want to pay the fees to enter.
5. Track meets. Again, many have no interest of going to the track. But its another different outlet and for those that like to hang, they come hang.
Organization is the key to success. Some car clubs like Lexotic Concepts are very competitve at shows. There is nothing wrong with that. If you read "Lowrider" magazine, they always have articles on clubs and how serious it is. Some are almost family based. I've been to a meet before where you had to make meets, there was initiation, rules, etc etc. Not for me (and most Lexus owners I see).
SELOC is South East but we are based in Atlanta. You could have a base in New York but have a NE club.
