I think I've PMd that we won't be making any new forums until after the upgrade but always love to see more local enthusiasm & activity! Let me know how I can help once you get some momentum up and define what the chapter will be about.
Keep in mind we already have a very active Northeast forum so what you're talking about creating is an active 'club' for local Lexus enthusiasts events in a very specific regional geographic area. Otherwise you might as well just continue to use the regional forum

I'm as down as a clown, but my car won't do much good at shows with chrome OEM 16's...
big rims aren't an option anymore seeing how bad NYC streets are on stock 17's (I just couldn't take the ride any longer)
and I can't afford to keep two cars, so buying a beater aint an option

Well the Altlanta crew posted in the SE regurlarly. We then did have our own seperate SELOC forum as we had quite a few members and got very organized. To where we got our own website due to the growth.
Your time is coming. Dave and co. will make sure you get all the support you need as we were/are supported.

I have to be very honest. I think that the system we have now is the best one (NE forum). There was/is a chapter called Lexotic Concepts here on CL, but there was a strict rules list to join, etc. I remember when I joined CL, as a Northeast resident I wanted to join, but felt kinda funny that I didnt meet the mod requirements. Then I found that I was glad I didnt join based on some of things I witnessed them do at meets. ( park independent of the other cars, leaving and coming back as a group 3-4times, etc etc)
The way it is now, we do any and everything from carshows, bbq's, meets, standing in the rain (), etc etc and it is ALL INCLUSIVE! Bone stock Lexus, or Lexus with 20k in mods. I think of some of the REALLY cool members that I know that do not have fully modded cars, and I would hate to loose their participation because they cant be in the "club". I have been a part of a Car Club when I was younger, and it ends up being needlessly competitive and exclusional. (IMO)
We all communicate via telephone, email, IM anyway, why not just keep going at that rate. Those that choose to particpate in a more active capicity can do just that. Just my .02

One thing I like about CL meets is that every is classy !! No one says "oh why do u have stock wheels" or "why did u come with your stock lexus". Everyone comes to the meet just to hang out and talk about their favorite cars LEXUS. As how I see it if you drive a Lexus, you are part of the club.

Guys, I've cleaned up this thread a little and removed off-topic and unnecessary conversation that should be resolved in PM if it needs further discussion. Back on topic on making this NE group successful please.
D2 & others - what if the new forum was more 'regionally focused' on the metro NY area rather than just focused on attending NE car shows? Shows could certianly be one of the regular activities, but moreso focused on engaging, educating and growing the local NY Metro Lexus enthusiasts.
