Hey Bryan! It's been a long time. You definately have one of my favorite GS400. With well thought out mods. I'm looking forward to see you at some NELOC meets.

It's just that I've just out grown 6 cylinders.

Here we go again! I think the WORLD has grown out of the V8 muscle craze. NASCAR is the only series that still use good ol boys push rod V8 engines. All F1 cars are boosted... some with 1200 HP turbo inline 4cyls. Every MTA bus, tractor trailer truck, and commercial vehicle are boosted. All daily driven!

Dollar for dollar there is no better mod than turbocharging! Ask any mechanic... I'd rather swap a motor than change a torque converter. I'd rather install a turbo manifold on the 2JZ than headers on a 1UZ. I've worked both motors and for the same $$$ in mods a 2JZ or 1JZ would crush the 1UZ.

For every 1UZ owner that spends $500 for 20 - 30 HP gain.
Turbo owners spend $500 and get 100 - 200 hp gain.

Hmmm.... No brainer.....

V8s do sound good.... Too bad you 400 guys are so far back in the pack that us boosted guys can't hear you.

Lol... Lemans, V8 Supercars Australia, British Touring Car Championship , World Touring Car Championship, the list goes on and on as far as V8 car race series. Swaping a whole motor? why Given two motors and equal amounts of boost (and an equivalent compressor, I don't want to compare turbochargers to superchargers), displacement is still the major deciding factor as to how much power will come out of the engine.

This isn't to say that the car will necessarily be faster, as gearing and weight play a huge part in that. I'm talking about engine for engine. The 2.6 liter Nissan Skyline (280 hp stock) has been known to exceed 1200 horses after forced induction. That is about a 428% increase in power. If Henessey Viper (which by the way has turbocharged its 8.0 liter powerplant to over 800 horses) decided to slap on the same set of turbos capable of a 428% increase, the figures will be something like a 1926 horsepower car.. So to sum it all up, on paper there is no replacement for displacement, in real-life. V8s are the way to go

Lol.. Englishtown sounds like a great place to layeth the smack down. No cops or old ladies in station wagons to worry about. Just a nice straight strip to let it all hang out.
