You'll need a window roll up module to do auto up and down window mod...I had a DEI roll up mod but sold it for $50 after I was told that it will take several hours of labor to do this mod. I think Sean or Cliff has a authorized installation center for your alarm..

Hey, what's up DJ, yeah the guy by my house does great work on installations, I'd have to check to see how much he would charge for a carried in unit. I wonder if dealers would have a problem with putting a warranty on a carried in alarm though but I'll check on it for you.

Total price and quality of install is all the matters to me.
Thanks!

Whats up DJJT. You just got yourself a great alarm system. Where ever you decide to get your alarm installed, expect to leave your car there for the entire day or maybe over night. Proper install takes about 7 hours. You will need the optional Toyota/Lexus bypass module 555x in order for the system to work in conjuction with your factory alarm (Double protection). With this module, a spare key is not necessary to plug into the brain of the alarm. When the install is complete, make sure everything works like it used to. For example, the automatic steering wheel adjustment when you turn on/off the car. This should still function when you remote start the car. Have the installer also adjust the standard shock sensor to your liking (I have mine at a high setting). Like Dennis said, the window up/down module is another option to purchase. The factory key can still do that for you, so save the money on something else. There is a tow sensor, and Viper GPS tracking as other options all at an additional cost. Just check out the site for an installer near you and the options available for the alarm. If you want to go with my guy, let me know. http://www.directed.com/

oh, that explains why he was asking for an additional key i guess?

is it easy to add on the window up/down module later on/anytime?

my local local guy quoted me $200 for the install. is that a good price? normal?

thanks!

I've been quoted $100-150, $200 seems a bit steep...

where at for the $100-$150 install?

my guy says the DEI 555x module doesn't work that well after a certain period of time. customers return to get it reprogrammed.

What year is your car, there's a new module out 555w that needs to be used for certain years. But that's one of the benefits of the warranty if something does go wrong. I haven't had time yet but I'll ask my dealer what he's charging....

Bill,

I knows yours is going to be around $400 if you're not bringing in the the unit itself. I just left a message for him about DJ so when he calls me back, I'll double check for you.

so... this new module... err... is there a model number for that particular new model? for a 1998 GS400?
