Pics Thread! MD BBQ NELOC MEET
#17
Great BBQ, Tara and Carlos!
First, let me thank the Northerners for not only coming down to join us, but for also allowing me to join the thrilling caravan down I95 (I stayed in Phillie the night before). I now truly understand the meaning behind the saying, "It's all about the caravan, baby!" Such a beautiful thing to see multiple Lexuses assaulting the pavement.
Second, a HUGE thank you to Tara and Carlos for opening their home to us. MANY, MANY thanks for all the hospitality....and for letting us linger in your home until late in the night. Carlos cooked up grub all day for us, and Tara ran around all day to make sure we had all we needed. As great as the weather was, the hospitality was even better.
And, Tara's got a TWIN SISTER! And the twin and Tara's other 2 sisters were all there. So when I found out, I immediately went over to 'Tara' to get more info on what it was like being a twin...but I wasn't talking to Tara, I was really talking to Heather, the twin.
And Malik, the 'entertainment' from the DC sisters grew as the night wore on. You missed it.
Mr. & Mrs. Greed, a NELOC cake??? Wow! So creative you both are...so glad you came, but the visit as always was too short. And NICE STEREO! I'm jealous! Mrs. Greed, NICE TAN.
And so nice to finally meet Mrs. Apex, and Mrs. Smitty...
Carlos, thanks for our t-shirts!
Also, sidenote, Carlos and I did a few "runs" on I95 amidst all the traffic during the caravan. The first one, my GS pulled on him as we approached about 100 mph. Of course, these are rolling highway races, not from a deadstop.
So after that, Carlos pulls about 10 minutes later...and shouts out the window, "OK, OK, I've made a few corrections!" as he holds up his inside-the-car boost controller..."Let's run again!" he shouts. So here we go again...
This time his GS turbo pulls on ME. LOL Leave it to Carlos to play MadScientist on the fly, making corrections to the fuel/air mixture, while we're caravaning down the highway. Many props Carlos....
And Batmobile, you have such a nice azz. You can drive in front of me ANYtime. Thanks for meeting me and getting me out of PA to join the NY caravan. Next for us, Pittsburgh?
Ana, still keeping a good thought for granddad....glad you could join us during the day though.
So glad everyone welcomed my LONG time friend (since middle school), Bobby (robe818). He just bought an IS, and everyone showed him love. Many thanks for welcoming our newest members...Robe, Edward and Flave. Edward and Flave made the trip from NYC...being initiated via the thrilling caravan that Papi lead.
So good to see everyone else. Glad everyone made it home safely too.
It is now time for Maryland to crash a NYC BBQ/meet. If they can drive up and down I95 for us all in one day, we can do it too.

Here's the building of a small NELOC family tree, while destroying another (inside joke):
First we start with some ISes
Then we add a GS...
Then you add some cherries to the tree...
Then you add some GOLD in the tree, so that people can realize how strong NELOC has become in just a few short years...
Now let's add Soup to the tree, the OG of this group...
And finally, this is Kwame, NELOC's best storyteller, reenacting something for Apex and Bat. I can't remember the actual story, but I loved this picture anyway. And no, Kwame's not sleeping, he's "reenacting"....just look @ Bat and Apex's faces.
