Hello all, I am rather new to the group, many of you know my screen name but have not met in person. I joined the group I guess in March or April at the suggestion of Leroy. Since I have joined the group I have felt as though it is much different than many other car groups I have been associated with. This group is very special. The members, non-members, and any one else associated with it so more than an interest in cars whether their own or mine. I must have told 100 people at Carlisle what had happened to my car and the hood and just about everyone said in response something to the effect of "at least you were not hurt and the car will be fixed, don't sweat it". Since my first involvement with NELOC I have felt nothing but good things about the group and the members of it. Every time that there are meets or get togethers of some sort they are the highlight of my day, days, or weekends. I really look forward to getting together with all of you that I met so far and really look forward to meeting those that I have not. I hope that any animosity between any of us can be put behind us so that we as a group can move on to whatever is ahead for the group. I would like to see more and more people out to meets but I understand scheduling conflicts, I certainly have many of them. I think that the effort certain members put in is more than deserving of recognition and I very much appreciate what you do for the group, those of you know who you are. I understand that many of us want recognition for things that are done. We are not in pre-school where everyone gets recognized for a crappy finger painting. There are many directions that I could and would like to see NELOC go and they are all positive. Those of you that are here for the people as well as the cars lets all work together to see where we can take this group. Look what was accomplished at Carlisle this spring. As a group with the help of all that attended we took the trophy for "Best Car Club" and we did not even try. We took over that show, many of us that attended did not leave the pavilion we were in because we were the best part of the show. That is something special. LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO BE THE BEST WE CAN BE

Well I would like to commend all the newer members for the their comments and thoughts on this subject. So lets those with the issues either work it out together or get over it. Never-the-less let keep on keeping on with the meets, hanging with friends, and forging new friendships. In my time here I have come to love NELOC and all it's members. As most of you have come to realize, this is my "second home" , and the feeling I get when doing anything associated with the group is always that of excitement. Here in MD I've seen nothing but growth. People are putting together their own meets, hanging on weekends, and making friends with people that they may not have ordinarily. Threads like these always provide interesting views from the prospectives of those that have been here for awhile , and though sometimes may come off as being negative ultimately give the whole an even stronger foundation to build on. So if this is the "storm" the "calm" must be right around the corner. Chin up y'all.

Just my 2 cents. So with that said I hope to see a lot of the MD crew and whoever else wants to come out at the Round Table Meet. Good luck all .

MAN IM LOOKING AT ALL THESE MEMBERS EVERY MEET THERES ABOUT 10 - 15% OF THEM THAT COME. I LIKE WHAT APEX IS DOING DOWN IN PA/MD/DC AREAS. WE NEED TO BRAINSTORM AT A MEET WHERE WE ACTUALLY DECIDE WHEN AND WHERE TO MEET, GET OUR IDEAS ACROSS PERSONALLY AND NOT ON THE FORUM. AND PEOPLE "IF YOU CANT MAKE THE MEET DONT CLOG UP THE POST WITH EXCUSES ON WHY YOU CANT MAKE IT.

Now, there were some things said about me by someone who found it viable to broadcast their built up animosity on a forum, with the run go tell philosophy, rather than face to face like grown folks do. I had a talk off line with that individual at your BBQ, to no avail. The animosity still persists for some reason So what to do.... I just keep on keeping on, use the ignore feature, and post elsewhere.. I had so many ideas to share with the group including upcoming events and car related maintainence deals... I just post them elswhere, keep them to myself, or use the pm. To be honest, the enthusiasm I once had for NELOC is gone. I guess the atmosphere is just not like it used to be for me I can recall the many times we had impromptu meets at Todds and elsewhere https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...t=bbq+at+todds (still love yah buddy). I still keep in contact with the many Neloc members that I have become friends with, and continue to help many offline with car related items and other areas. NELOC is not dead at all.. It has just evolved.. Just wanted to give my 2 cents.

Pretty much a newb here, but when I started reading the NELOC section of ClubLexus I saw how united the members were/are with each other, members helping others install parts on their cars, bbq's, to doing oil changes as a group. What really attracted me was this togetherness, and being that I have few friends (because i'm so darn picky) I decided to go to one of these meets (MD BBQ), and I NEVER expected to be treated as well as I did, it was like i've been with the group since the beginning. So, then I realized why everyone kept referring to NELOC as FAMILY. I really hope that we can continue having these meets, because i'm looking forward to getting know all the members a bit more.
As Scarlet said, "if you have nothing nice to say don't say it at all."
