A Wyandanch man was arrested for felony manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs after his passenger died late Sunday night in a one-car accident on the Southern State Parkway, the New York State police said.
Two young children, 2 and 3, who were in the back seat of the car, were also injured, police said.
Salih Townsley, 29, of 6 South St. in Wyandanch, was speeding in a 2000 Jaguar, weaving in and out of traffic on the eastbound parkway when he lost control of the car at around 11:30 p.m., witnesses said.
The Jaguar hit the right shoulder of the highway and hit a tree just east of Exit 17, the police said.
His front-seat passenger, Stephen Stanley, 43, of Bushwick Avenue in Brooklyn, was killed.
The Lakeview Fire Department responded to the accident and removed Stanley from the car, and he was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre where he was pronounced dead at 12:05 a.m. Monday, the state police said.
Also injured in the accident were three back-seat passengers. Andrew Morris, 26, of Wyandanch, was treated at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for neck pain. The two children were being treated for their injuries at Nassau University Medical Center and Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola.
Townsley was treated and released for neck pain and faces charges of misdemeanor driving while ability impaired (drugs), felony manslaughter, felony vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault and numerous vehicle and traffic violations, police

Disclaimer: I do speak of wreckless driving at times. However, I will not endorse it as it is not the safest thing in the world to do. In the same breathe I will not force feed info on to any driver. You took the responsibility behind the wheel, then you deal with the consequences!!
