Default pot hole aftermath

sup guys! been a long while... ever since work, I haven't had to time to get on the site and such... studied and passed my series 7 too so... not much of a life heh.

but i hit the biggest pot hole ever in my history last night... and now i hear a light thudding sound when i drive. it gets faster and faster as i drive faster and faster.

i'm thinking about replacing my rims on the driver's side of the car with my stock rims to see if the problem goes away. BUT if it doesn't, what do you think I should check out suspension wise?

Thanks
Charlie

sounds like a bent rim? do you feel vibrations in the steering at all? Check all the joints and bolts, make sure everything is still torqued and not broken. Maybe you messed up a wheel bearing, that's how I threw my bearing out for good, couple good potholes in NYC did it.

DJ,

Take off your rims and visually inspect for a bend, if you don't find one, then go get another alignment and see if it goes away first.

I agree with the members above me. Have the rim/rims checked out. Last time I hit a major pothole, I bent the rim AND blew a tire. Bummer lol.

Yes we do lol. I blew the tire out on my LS400. The pot hole was bad too. What makes it worse is that the orange cones and hazard stands were on the side walk. 10 feet down where I pulled over. DOT knows how to warn people

Default Pothole reimbursement

Just so you know! One can obtain reimbursement for damages sustained relative to potholes in NYC and state.
Simply call the New York City' Office of the Comptroller to file a claim @ 212-669-8750. Hours are 9-5, M-F.
Hope this helps.

reimbursement!??! oh hell friggin yeah? in that case...

my suspension broke, control arms are bent and tires fell off haha

thanks for that info. I'll definitely check that out. as for right now, imma take off my left tires, they're bent, i can see visually... put on my stocks, drive around see how that goes.

do you guys know if 106 straighten outs rim? or if that's even possible? and i got curb rash too... man, i'm just bad with rims =(

maybe i should stick to 16" stock and just pount the **** outta them lol

106 does straighten wheels, but i think the guy who does it is only there monday through friday 9am to 5pm. I dont remember if they refinish the wheels after they straighten it, you may want to double check that.
