so apparently this guy thought my house was a drivethrough...
Well, Saturday into Sunday night really sucked. The sox lose, and i'm not in a good mood. Finally, i calm down and get to sleep, and me and my girlfriend are passed out.
WHAM!
What was that? what the **** just happened?
-Well, this is what happened....
This is the car...
This is what saved my life.
Apparently this 50+ year old greek guy's wife just died, and he hasn't been the same since... he drove directly into the house and didn't brake at all. My room is directly above this and my bed is right against that wall. They estimated the car was going 45+ when he hit the curb and 30+ when he hit the house. If that curb wasn't there I would be dead right now. I probably have to move and find a new place to rent... Crazy ****. More details later.

glad to hear that you are ok. But i was wondering about the construction of your house. I would have thought that they would make the wall out of concrete or cinder block at least.

Wow Joe, glad to know that you're OK and that you are still here with us. It could have bean alot worse.
Joe(Greenvy2k)- looks like they hit the foundation of that house. see in the first pic where the concrete is broken at the bottom? The inside stuff(wood, sheet rock, insulation) looks like it was put up to hide the brick wall itself as well as insulate from the cold(brick will keep heat or cold). Most of the time houses are built on a raised/slightly raised foundation so only the foundation walls(basement) are concrete and the rest of the structure is built upon that. Luckily they didnt bust the copper pipe that is running the length of the wall at the top. Cant tell it that is from the hot water heater or a gas line,, either way lucky that it is still intact.

Bingo. The house was unfinished until last year (I'm just renting the house) and that's what you're seeing. Trukn, that copper pipe is is a hot water line, and did burst, however that is what's holding up the wall up right now. If that wall gives my room will fall through.
I go to school in CT but I live in MA... thankfully my teachers are wicked cool about this but its going to be a rough week.
I'm in the process of finding a new place as we speak..
