Welcome to Cl Matt. No hassle to join, just introduce yourself, like you are doing here, and come out to 3 events/impromptu meets to become official. Check this forum regularly, as there are alot of events/stuff that happens on the regular. Season is pretty much done for this year, and most are in "winter mode". So for the time being, just jump in on the conversations, and come out to whatever is happening when you can.

From the Greater DC area too... You can consider an official meet to be the NELOC Christmas party on Dec. 15th at my place. All are welcome and it would count as your first meet, since it's not just a party but a meet
Hope you can make it out! Check out the NELOC Christmas Party thread. It would be nice to meet new people, you will def have a good time!
