Warning slip in NJ...
Can someone explain to me what exactly is it? Is it put into the system? how long does it last (a day, week, month, year, etc)? Is there anything else I should know.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I think a warning anywhere is just that...a warning. I "think" it stays in the system (Police records) for > 1 year or so. I don't think it has references as to what speed you were going or what you did though. It's mainly just to tell other officers (if you unfortunately get pulled over again) know that the last time you got pulled over was 1/xx/08 and you got off with a warning. This helps the officer determine if he wants to let you off again or not.
*Someone please help or clarify things if something mentioned above is not on point.

In response to what you are inquiring, I'll try to explain it somewhat on what I think you want to know. Whenever a motorist is pulled over and their plate is run, it is done one of two ways. Random and full disclosure. Random will just give vehicle info in regards to year/make/model, registration status, etc.. Full disclosure gives the registered owner info down to address, social, and a few other things I am not going to mention here because you guys don't need to know everything. Anyway, every single plate that is run from every PD is logged into a database controlled by the NJSP. There is an option to state what was done on the motor vehicle stop and if any summonses were issued. Whether the officer who pulled you over entered he gave you a warning on the MV stop into the system I can't tell you. Is it something to worry about? No.. And just for the record, the main thing for all of you is what we call discretion. If someone is an *** on a MV stop, chances are they are going to get wood (a ticket). If you are cool and polite, then you may get a warning and be sent on way (Depending on violation). Hopefully this answers your question.

That I couldn't tell you. If you got the hard copy I highly doubt it was entered into the system. It won't show up on your abstract anyway. Just moving violations, suspensions and things along those lines do.

You are absolutely right, I have given PLENTY tickets to the nicest drivers. I am also cool and polite when explaining why they got the summons (or summonses). Sometimes the way people drive they almost kill people. Now answer this, would you rather be out of some cash you can get back in your next paycheck or would you rather kill yourself or someone else. Those things you can't get back. Besides, if you feel you are right take it to court.

He was riding along and someone heard a sound go PSSSSSTTTT; so the man with the nice, bright red and blue lights was kind enough to stop him and let him know that he had run out of air. LOL!!!!!
