Default Automotive - Paint - Clear coat help!

Hey guys, I've been trying to get this thing off of my car since I got it back in August. It's located on the driver side rear passenger door adjacent to the gas cap. I went to a detail shop, and they said that someone took sandpaper and basically rubbed the clear coat right off of the door! Not fixable with a buffer!

Here are some pictures, don't know if you'll be able to see the ultra fine swirls, scratches, and whatever else. Noticeable in the day time even with out LOOKING for it. Night time is eh.

you can try sanding it with some unigrit 3000 and then try buffing it out.

I'll take more pictures in the day time for you guys to judge. Like I said, it can't be polished, buffed, or sanded out =/

If there is paint then it can be saved..I dont see a reason why that can't be fixed or made better..Try a different shop for a second opinion..
