Travis,
I am in VA but would consider a hop up to Hagerstown to view the car but you need to tell me what your wanting the person to look for...I dont know Hondas or their quirks but I know paint, fit and finish and some mechanical. Let me know some details about the car, what your looking to find out, is it a private party or dealer, etc etc

why are you looking to buy an accord in MD and you live in NY.
Im sure there are plenty of accords and civics there.
older accords have alot of quirks and you need to know what to look for.
the really old ones are carbuerated, stay away from those (pre 90's). power steering was an option on alot of them, and the ones that do i would inspect for leaks.
late 90's models have problems with automatic trannys. safest bet is to get a manual. If its a Vtec model you would wanna gun it and make sure V-tec is kicking in/out just fine. i think that most of the quirks. i always take a quick look at the drive axles on any FWD car to make sure the CV boots and joints are still good and stuff. Engine diagnosis on a 4 cylinder is easy. you can usually tell from the idle.
always inquire about timing belt/water pump (reason why most people sell inexpensive cars)
If your looking for gas mileage go with a civic.
if i had to get a 4 banger it would be another 240sx.
they are just awesome cars.

Its a 96 Accord EX with 142k on it and also stick. From the pictures it looks very clean and in good condition. He's selling it for very cheap and seems to be a honest guy. The only mechanical problem he mention was the ABS unit is no good, but has an extra he will give me. I just want to make sure that its not a POS. He wants 1800 obo which is a very good price and I can't find one in NYC for that price model and condition. Rolxu I'm going to PM and I would appreciate a lot if you could help me out.

I sent you a PM. You know I looked up the car on NADA which is pretty close to wholesale and they say a price double what he is selling it for...Sorry guess Im a firm believer in "if it sounds too good to be true it usually is" but you have peaked my curiosity now...in the PM i sent my # and some questions.
