Rear window is not the same as rear SIDE window
Rear window (part 4) is the one window directly opposite the windshield. This window is typically on the rear of the vehicle and contains a REAR WINDOW defroster.
Rear SIDE windows (Part 3) come as a pair. In a four door car, they are usually located on the two REAR doors.
Sorry for the sarcasm Vlad, its early, haven't had my Red Bull yet.... lol, but you asked for it.
Seriously, I'm just trying to give you guys a heads up. I learned the hard way myself as my two rear side windows have limo tint and I mouthed off to a friend of mine who is an officer and knows the law and made sure to correct me. My tint is illegal.

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN NEW YORK?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In New York, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

Last time i got busted for Tints, i had 35% all the way around the car, I asked the cop what was acceptable he said its now 50% all around the car. This was about 2 years ago though.
also the fines i paid was $60X2 (front and rear seperate tickets), i was caught on the clearview expressway on my way to school around 7pm.
This caught my attention because im going to get tints on my SC soon. was leaning to 35% again since the interior color is so light.

The way i get tickets you would think its illegal to have tints at all. just my bad luck but i refuse to take them off. but yea 70 on all front windows and the back dont matter but nypd will ticket you for all four if u dont know any better you have to dispute the rear ones.
