done for that night...

9/9
i found one on ebay for $100 free shipping w/ no blubs or ballast, which is cool cause all my bulbs survived, including the HID ballast and bulb and everything. the dude i bought the supra from and who has a turboed dark green IS is a parts guy at r&h toyota gave me some prices at his cost.... hood is almost $500 (which is the same as a CF one, so i'll just do the OEM cf one.... (might as well upgrade when replacing **** right?) fender is like $275, and i found it as low as 220 but not sure if i have to pay shipping on that or not.... and bumper was like 225 and a c-west replica front bumper from VIS was $180 so i'm gonna go with that....

9/12
tooks some pics and messed with some things a few nights ago.... i think i can pull it out and hammer it back close to how it was.... but i def need a new upper headlight bracet and upper bumper bracket... hey ambre, what did you use when you said you pulled the frame of the lude?

wrecked side:

pulled the good headlight out to get a better comparison

i want to relocate the horns so if i get a new grill, you won't see them behind it....

they are just dangling now but i'll tap them in to the bumper support tomorrow or something...

9/13
messed with it some and tried to take the upper headlight suppot our, which was a *****....

my buddy came over today and started to pull everything out. and than at one point, he stood back and was like hmmmm.... i didn't bring my welder cause i figured it wouldn't of came out that nicely and we would of had to do it at the shop.... so he finished up everything, drilled out the tack welds from the support and knocked and pulled everything out and its looking pretty good. tuesday night he'll weld the supports and all in and we'll fine adjust everything so it lines up nicely

after today

well nardi came over today, we lined everything up and had like 10 vice grips on everything and the fender lined up perfectly and so did everything else. so he proceeded to drill and clean up everything for welding and he welded the whole support in (my batt was dead while he we did all this so no pics of that).

once the support was welded up, we bolted the fender on to line up the side bracket. we went to mock fit the head light in and it doesn't fit in at all.... the headlight sticks out of the fender braket about 3 inches... looks like i'll be returning this fender to where we got it from and going through lexus to get one that fits... from looking at the wrecked one and the new one, the bracke is way closer to the end than the old one was...

here are the pics of the support welded into place

ran the wires and put just about everything else back to gether....including the tucked away horns

swapped out the crushed washer fluid canister and put the new one in along with the inner fender

the fender on... to bad the headlight brackets are off

so i'm just waint for the cf hood and bumper to come in. i'm ordering a new fender monday morning since the brackets are off by like 2 inches. and i'm debating on either re-painting the entire car MSM like it was or something brighter like i want like the GS silver pearl paint...

the stock grill doesn't fit so i decide to paint everything you would see black to hide it better, like the radiator support you can see

painted the chrome grill inserts black

painted everything that could possibly be seen black

drilled for the hood pins

10/17/08

i cut the fender in before i hung it
