Default DC MD VA Wheel Refinishing Vendor Question

For those locals I have found a vendor being repped by Pohanka Lexus for on-site wheel repair. The company name looks to be Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists. Has anyone had ANY experience with this company or even heard of them? I would assume is a Lexus dealer is reppin them they have to be decent.

What kind of repair should I expect from an on-site repair? I have a 2 piece wheel with alot of curb rash and gouges and a couple of bends...is it worth it to try this out? I was told approx $225 - $250/rim but when I just called again they said it is case by case. What would be a reasonable price and can anyone vouch for this company?

Here is their website mobilewheelrepair.com...seem pretty reputable.

Again, I am not promoting this company I want some feedback if anyone has done business with this company and the end result and what a reasonable price per rim for repair should be.

Thanks in advance.

why use a mobile repair instead of a B&M wheel repair place that you know isnt going to go anywhere and WILL stand behind their work

there is this place called "Ye ole Wheel Shop" in Elkridge, Maryland. i got my volks fixed there and the work was amazing. i could not tell that they have been worked on. looked brand new! I highly recommend that shop!

it was $150 per wheel to fix bends and $85 per wheel to fix curb rashes and repolish.

I've been to Ye Ol Wheel Shop and they are very inconvenient in distance and they said we'll call you when its ready...like 1-3months "were real busy". Huh? That was just too long to wait with car on jack stands.

I was lookin at a mobile shop since they were being repped by a Lexus dealer. I just dont get how they can do the type of work required to repair the wheels that a physical shop could. I am not sure yet and still investigating liability of dealer should things go very wrong or issues with warranty but its much more convenient than driving 1.5 hours each way to drop off and pickup my wheels factoring in my time and gas.

I had called a mobile repair guy up here in queens to repair a wheel (weld a crack on the inner barrel, and for things like this, they usually will keep the wheel and not do it "mobile". For curb rashes they do it in the back of the van, i dont get how they paint it tho?

I can vouch for Wheel Refinishers work. Ye Olde Wheel always seems to be too busy. Wheel Refinishers will actually pick up and drop off wheels if you like.

i wouldn't do it mobile Mark, just grab a cheap set of oem wheels to throw on until it gets fixed right. Don't you have those laying around somewhere?

Do they charge for pickup and drop off at wheel refinishers?? They dont even have an address on their site, it just say La plata MD. And the phone number has too many number... 888.602.Wheel... Wheel has 5 numbers isn't suppose to be 4 numbers? Anyways, how much do they charge to fix curb rash.

The phone rings in the shop in Annapolis, but you can set up to go to rockville, They usually take a week to perform repairs. I have used them at least 4-5 times in the last 3 years or so. They did wonders on my ole IForged rims. For all four wheels to be repaired and polished and painted (if you like), $600.00. About $150.00 a wheel. But prices might have went up or down since the last time I used them. And yes that's the correct number, the phone will still ring.

I just recently had all four of my wheels refinished. I had some pretty bad road rash on them and the mobile wheel guy did a great job on them. www.sharperimagears.com. The owners name is Sean. He's moving to a new building so things seem to be "under construction". I think it's just him and maybe a couple of guys that he's hired. But like I said, the work that he did on my wheels came out much better than I expected.
