Neloc BBQ (Revised) 4/4/09,,2 pm
NELOC Beginning of Spring BBQ (Hosted by the infamous Smitty and Al)
Date: 4 April 2009 (Rain Out date: 11 April 2009)
Time: 2:00pm
Place: 1305 Southern Springs Lane, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774

This is the first big event of the season to welcome in Spring and shake the winter ice off a little. Will be a great kick off to a very hot 2009 for NELOC. Everyone is encouraged and welcome to come and hang out and have fun with the NELOC family.
I'm going to ask that everyone bring something or if you choose you can pitch in on food. I have started a list below to get started. As people volunteer to bring items and I start getting enough of one thing, I'll pull it off the list below so always check the first post for updates.
Food List:
Ribs will be provided by Smitty
Kickin chicken provided by Smitty
Meat - Hamburgers/Hot Dogs/other meat (Both Beef and Turkey)
Breads - Buns
Sides - Baked Beans/Potato Chips/Other Suggestions?
Drinks - Soda/Water
Desserts - Cookies/Brownies/Cake/Pie/Ice Cream
Condiments - Ketchup/Mustard/Relish/Mayo
Plastic - Plastic Forks/Spoons/Knives
Bring your folding chairs for extra seating, gotta big back yard and plenty of parking
Bring your kids, your spouse/gf/bf, and yourself. Anyone who has any suggestions on food or anything else please let me know!!

House Rules:
Yeah I have house rules but they're not too bad and I know NELOC is cool so I dont have to worry about anything.
1.) Be respectful to everyone. (If you got drama leave it for yo mama. Dont want no fighting in my crib. I have no problem kickin yo azz out)
2.) No Frank the Tank (I have neighbors now so I guess I gotta be good. If you drink please dont show yo azz. Know when to say when. lol)
3.) No dropping a #2 in the powder room (If you gotta take the brown's to the superbowl dont do it in the powder room. Go to the basement bathroom. I like my house clean and funk free.)

This event is being held in someone's home and neighborhood, and great pains had to be undertaken to, out of respect, inform the neighbors of his intentions for this meet. This was done so that we don't have to worry about someone having to call the police for the amount of cars in the neighborhood. We are asking that the childish behavior(burnouts, doughnuts, speeding, etc.) be left elsewhere. This should not have to be said, nor addressed, however we need to make sure that there is no question about it. There need not be any repercussions from our organizing, and we want everyone to have fun, enjoy themselves, and also give the neighborhood a HUGE thrill with all of the amazing cars that we have.

Ok guys, I have locked down the previous BBQ thread and created this new thread so we can geta re-vised attendance list. If you are planning on coming, please re-sign your name to the list along with what you will be bringing. As of now, the weather is looking favorable for 4/4 event. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT WITH SPRING UPON US, EVENT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE/CANCELLATION(AGAIN) DUE TO WEATHER. IN THIS EVENT, (YET ANOTHER) DATE WILL BE SCHEDULED. Let us keep in mind the SMITTY AND HIS WIFE are opening their home in order to accomodate this event.

from looking at the map it seems both caravans meeting places north of MD would add 2 hours to my drive (which is 2.5 hours straight to smittys) so i guess im rolling alone unless anyone else thats goin is anywhere near me or on my way.. heres how im gettin there for the most part...

the 4th is the dc sakura japanese street festival, but i'll try to stop by around 4 pm if its cool. i can call or text someone on my way to see whats needed, or what u guys ran out of and still need. thanks,

um.. actually... when it was called off thursday... weather channel had it listed as 70%
early friday, still had it listed as 55%
everyone works hard and if you can't make it don't be mad at the host... it's just unfortunate for those that can't make it... maybe everyone can make another meet down the line...
you say it like he wanted it to rain and have it cancelled... which we both know that's not the case...
but i tell you what's not cool....
what's not cool is when someone opens up their house to a group of strangers and unfortunately due to weather had to cancel the event... some unappreciative a-hole decides to run his mouth downing the rescheduled one because he can't make it...what you think?
One person calls off this big thing at the last minute because of 30% chance of rain.....?
That's not cool... There were like 30 something people on the list of attendees..
Good luck getting a turnout like that for next weekend.
I for one am not coming. Some people work hard and can't take off every weekend.
