Default April '09 Porsche Club D.E.

for some quick background... the porsche club has 5 run groups in Driver's Ed at the track, green is the lowest, than it goes to blue, white, black, than red... blue and green you have instructors, white your good enough to be on your own, black and red are instructor groups split up mainly by HP.

I've been in the black instructor group for over a year but not an instructor and during winter, the club's chief instructor contacted my dad and wanted to see if i was interested in becoming an instructor. the have training i think once a yea and this yea was at summit point, the friday before the sat and sun event which was last weekend.

well since it was easter weekend, my mom wasn't too happy, so i left friday morning in the IS and went down with scott and dave from our group. we had a lil over 15 instructor in trainings in the class, and our day was very busy. we had class, than on track with our mentors, class, track with mentor, short lunch, class, track with mentor, class, than final evaluation, than free track time... all with 5min breaks in between...

so since i didn't have my car since my dad said i didn't need it, i took the IS out for a few laps for the first time....

Man those are some nice shots. Mike from TPC is a good guy, he builds fast cars, Mr. Church to name one that I've seen. Mike is an excellent driver as well, you know that whole Rolex cup thing. How long have you been driving? That's a 928 you're driving right? Your dads 993 RS is good looking too. That gold Targa looks like another customer that we have had here at the shop I work at. yea, Gary's car is pretty bad ***. he went home early though cause he wasn't feeling good. Mike is a good driver, we pit crewed for him when he did the grand am stuff in the rolex series. than he got guys from tech school to pit when he did the full rolex series.

i've been auto-xing since i had my learners and been doing D.E.'s since i turned 18, and i'm 22 now.

uh, no, i have a '83 911sc.... i think i have only seen one 928 run in a DE in the past like 10 years lol. there front engine V8's which look like sharks. the porsche in risky business is a 928...

my dad's car is a 964(911) RS America. it was a "GT-3" of its time. came factory gutted with the basics made for racing. no abs, power steering, and the jammed a 3.6 in it.

what shop do you work at??

Looks like a great day! Some freinds and I ride our bikes down to Summit point a few times a year. I love that place.
