Default Any Subwoofer Enclosure Builders in NY?

I know this is a long shot since it's more common to just buy boxes and such...

but I picked up an Alphasonik Mayhem today coupled with a PMA800DA Alphasonik amp and am trying to get a box built EXACTLY to certain specs.

Was wondering if anyone knows a reputable place that does the RIGHT build without taking shortcuts or using ****ty material.

Here are the goodies: The mayhems have a max output of 4,400 watts!

and the amplifier..

theres not toomuch shortcutwhen making awood box aside from actually knowing how to tune the box. are you going with a ported, sealed, bandpass?

Everything is great man, hope your good as well.

Not looking to go custom, primarily because I don't want to sacrifice any sound quality, and in addition, I want something I can easily take out of the car and maybe even use somewhere else/sell since I change my audio setup often.

I'm sure he can cut us a deal even if I get a regular sealed box made, so let me know where you'll be getting your work done and I'll get a quote!

Sealed, easier to tune, less space, and tighter sound...kinda what I'm looking for now.

Bandpass is like HELL to tune unless it's made Specially for the subs..not to mention it also misses LOADS of notes.

What's up Vlad -- what happen with hangtime?!?! shieet...lol

Well, it depends on teh MDF its' made from..I was thinking about going with 1'' but I think 3/4'' would suffice, based on that and a 1.5 cubic ft space, for a sealed enclosure this is the size:

Depth 13.5'', Width 19.5'', Height 13.5''

It's a crazyyy simple build. If I had the tools/time I'd do it myself!!!

Hangtime???

I mean the specs of the sub, is 1.5 cubes enough? Whats the weight of the sub? RMS? Overall Diameter? Hole diameter requirements? Bolt circle diameter? Subwoofer depth?

sounds like that box is too small. 1.1 cubes after displacement is a relatively small box for that, it may sound like a subwoofer when all is said and done, but no where near what it's made for?

A sealed box is pretty easy to build. I built my own box with the help of this program on rockfords site http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/box_wizard.asp I used this program to get the perfect specs so I could fit my sub box and amp in between the shock towers of the trunk area. From the box specs you listed above optimal internal airspace would be 1.5 cubes but you could get away with running a box that is 1.75 cubes if you want alittle more depth from your subwoofer.

The person who built my custom enclosure as well as the enclosures for several of my friends does and excellent job and has years of experience with car audio. PM me if you would like more information.

Just got someone deep in Long Island, around exit 69 to do it.

I'm going to link up with him on Friday, and I'll measure up his specs...hopefully he made the box exactly how I want it & the specs I gave, otherwise you'll be getting a PM. thanks
