I really wish there was someway to solve this deer problem, it gets worse every year.
There is no deer problem...only a SPEED problem....

first off, glad to hear you're ok, that's what matters. what kind of bike was that?

second, I don't think it's as simple as "speed was the cause not the chance of there being a deer".. lots of people hit deer doing the speed limit too. I'm not nesecarily condoning 100mph, but i don't know the road/ area/ rider/ etc. I've always thought speed limits were way too low for some people, but sometimes too high for others.. like for instance should an elderly person in a 1991 Geo thats not taken care of (ie poor tires, bad brakes etc) be doing 65 legally, yet a formula 1 driver in a million dollar supercar should be restricted to 65?

Glad you're ok, but don't blame the deer. This is why people on bikes think they are invincible. Crouch rockets shouldn't do 100mph. Please do the speed limit and save yourself and the deer. Think of how your family must feel.....
First of all you ride a bike not drive it and speeding will never stop unless the government makes every vehicle's (including motorcycles) speed limit 65 and that will never happen. You can't even go 65mph on the highways here in the DC Metro area without getting cut off or shot at in some cases.

MD actually has a deer over population problem in some counties. I used to live in one county where they actually allowed hunters to come on a military post for one day and shoot deer to cut down on population.

Sherwin where the hell are you driving that you are getting shot at?

I have also had a discussion with Matt and told him that I was going to go with him to Pep Boys and get deer whistles for his new bike...

I've never been shot at personally but there have been incidents where road rage ended in shots being fired.

Matt congrats on the new bike. Be safe out there.

130lbs soaking wet in winter clothes with a 20lb bike helmet maybe! :-)

As I told you on IM love the new bike and the colour! It is bad ***...Now what we need to do is see if your car is faster than your bike! I drive the car, but I'm putting deer whistles all over the FMIC
