My award-winning CarPC
I hope I don't get in too much trouble for double-posting this (in both the NELOC Forum and the SC430 Forum). I'm one of the very few NELOC'ers with an SC430 so I don't think the two forums have much cross-traffic...and I think both groups might find this interesting.
Along with being a member of Club Lexus and NELOC, I also hang out with a group of CarPC hobbyists from www.mp3car.com.
The locals meets have always been quite loose...4 or 5 cars showing up with a good turnout.
Mp3Car.com is actually based out of Baltimore and, about 3 weeks ago, they had their first national meet...the AFKFest2009. There was a great turnout (25-30 cars) and lots of professionals from the industry (both specific to the CarPC hobby and to aftermarket audio in general). Along with a BBQ and the obligatory show-off-your-ride portion of the meet, the industry professionals held seminars with Q&A in the morning. It was a great day! Lots of information flowing in both directions.
My CarPC installation was awarded "Technical Best In Show" which was defined as "the car that has the most impressive use of technology" - as chosen by an anonymous technologist.
The link below will take you to the blog page with the video featuring my Car and CarPC installation.
Also, as an interesting side-note, the winners of the contests (myself included) are being interviewed and our photos taken with our cars for a New York Times article (hopefully to be published in October).

Wow . . I remember you from the first Maryland meet I attended. You were there with your wife, no?
Congrats on the award, the setup is jaw dropping.
The guy interviewing you seemed completely lost as you were talking though
