Default Md/dc/va need help with 1jz ecu

Is there anyone in the area that can let me borrow there 1JZ ecu to diagnose my car, I came to the conclusion that i need to replace the ecu since there are known to go bad and since last night after the meet it's been running really funny, Poping and backfiring, coils looks good and replace the plugs with TT plus from Toyota same crap.
I hate the 1jzgte ECu i knew about the ECus going bad even before i bought the swap.
Can someone please help thanks in advance

you can go lower than .028 if you suspect problems. I run around .024 with much improvement from when i ran .032.
do you have a wideband?

No Wideband , I am suspecting the ECU is going bad.
No check engine light, and i will do some weird stuff every other week.
I am getting some new plugs and gap them to 0.24 and see what happen at the same time I will trying a new ECU,if it's not the ECU i will let the Car sits and look for another
Thanks Ali

no problem, i'm sure its something you can figure out.
wideband would tell you if you are backfiring from being too rich or lean.
but there is a good chance it is your ecu if your car was running fine before so start there. have you seen this thread:
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46755
this guy rebuilds the 1jz ecus for cheap.

anytime, sounds like it should run better than ever after the re-cap.
Single is always a great idea on a TT block if you want to turn up the boost.
I still need to do my headgasket...

yeah, i'm in the same boat, gotta lay off the car mods for a while.
haven't set a date or anything on the headgasket job, hopefully by next summer.
If you could hook me up with the gasket i may be interested in a few weeks.
Although 9psi on 10:1 compression is fun in its own sort of way.. =)
