Default The GX tackles Northeast snow storm.

Film @ 11. Seriously, I convinced my wife to let me drive her GX instead of my Ford Ranger to work. With 16-20" of snow on the ground and more to come, I didn't want to take any chances. My job is 40 miles away in another state and with the highway completely covered it was a excellent chance to guage the GX abilities. We don't get this much snow in the DC area maybe once every 10 years. With Escalades, Yukons and H2,3's littering the highway the GX pressed on. The snow actually wasn't my biggest problem, it was the rear drive vehicles doing 10 mph that I happened upon at 4x the speed. My wife was very worried until I called her hour and 30 minutes later from my desk. Now to do it again on the way home 12 hours later. I-95s was caked but smooth. I never got stuck and only slid when making a tight turn over a snow embankment. Reston, Va looks like a Norman Rockwell poster. Out of a shift of 18 people, only 4 showed up plus me. And today was my day off. There were a lot of people stuck here for 12-18 hours. Anyway, be careful out there.

I borrowed my Dad's Mercedes Benz ML320 4x4 for the winter... this thing was a BEAST on the snow... Didn't slip, slide, or brake too long. Stopped on pedal... Poor guy in an old ES in front of me couldn't move. Cut him off slowly so he could use my tracks to drive safely... He flipped me off when I cut him off, but he thanked me once we got inside Quick Check. We just laughed... He bought me a kit kat LOL

took my dads ram 1500 quad cab out last night to go to the gfs house, that truck was driving in about a foot 8-12 inch of snow like it wasnt even there hehe.

took my moms Rx300 out around the block b4 i put it in the drive way, that car is a lot of fun in the snow hehe, i can get sideways and still have all full control with the awd.

drove my Ls when there as only a few inches of snow, hah all over the place lol, a lot of fun when ur just messin around and not trying to actually get anywhere

Its fun to go from driving a car that is terrible in snow to something that is awesome.I drive a 2001 es300 and even with snow tires, isn't that great but when it started snowing a lot i got to use my mom's lx470, and it is such a beast

i'll be driving down to reston today to one of my families homes (the closest one ) so can you describe this norman rockwell poster theme to me please cuz i would like to possible still catch a glimpse of it when going through there in a couple hours. maybe it will make me laugh, but driving through reston always makes me laugh so i'm sure it will still be somewhat relevant.

does norman rockwell = like perfect little picture of america or something cuz that is what always makes me laugh about reston in the first place, snow or not (i used to live there for a while so this is what gives me the option to now point and laugh, i think).

Supposed to get 8" in Oklahoma today. Left the BMW 335i in the garage and took the Gx 470. We'll see how it does.

^^ 8" is nothing for the gx. it's essentially a 4runner; same platform and what not. my runner was a beast in any weather, except in the rain with some poopoo falken tires i had on my 20's. you'll have no problem at all.

my gs300awd had no issues at all once the snow got thick. the roads seemed to be the worst friday night around 11:30, but the visibility was the main factor for that i think. going out saturday was no problem at all. the funny thing is i'm lowered rougly 3". i figured i might as well help plow some snow. lol. good thing my carson lip isnt on yet...
