Hey everyone,
The name is Shane and I recently moved to the Baltimore, MD area. I use to be a member of CL a few years back when I first purchased my GS, had all types of plans for it, and then the wife ended up taking it over and making it a mommy mobile. Well, years later, no more wife, and no more clean GS. The thing is a total junker now, and just as I was about to put it on craigslist for sale something in me decided to hang on and try to bring it back to life. I fell in love with the GS in highschool and always said I'd get one. I'm a full time college student now that I've left the military so budget isn't huge. Looking to meet some MD folks who may be able to help along the way with bringing this thing back to life. I've been a nissan guy since the age of 15 in Okinawa, so interior restoration and power accessories are not my forte. I usually have been able to fix everything my 240's had wrong with zip ties and rubber mallets. I'm sure I'll be asking a lot of questions (searching first of course) but would still really appreciate all the help I can get. I will come out to every meet I can (as soon as it gets warm...how do you people live here lol).
The car as it sits is a 2001 GS300 White/Tan with about 112k on it
Paint isn't in the best shape, I did the DIY chrome grill a few years back and it looks like crap now, needs to be replaced.
Car has TEIN Comfort series coilovers installed (after these pictures were taken) and Im not happy with them either! (Have EDFC and motors new in the box to sell or trade for parts I will need in the future too)
All types of suspension problems, electrical problems, oil leak problems, interior is beat to hell and back and I spent thousands on car audio and it was installed poorly by some hack's in Sacramento and now its falling apart and needs replaced too.
Like I said ... this thing NEEDS HELP, plz lend a hand anyway you can!

This is step one in the repair process, a key that isn't bound by tape. Just ordered one of the E Bay el cheapo flip keys, it may not be perfect but it has to be better then this one!

Thanks for the welcomes guys, I have a lot of things I plan to do with the GS. I can see what I want it to look like in my head, and I can explain it well, however I dont think my tastes will be appreciated by a lot of members so Im hesitant to post my ideas or "stylistic questions" lol

Bernie, I'll register as soon as I get the car registered and on the road. Dealing with MD MVA right now, just getting a drivers license here has been in a PIA. Now I have to get the car inspected (it isn't going to pass) and then pay tax's and registration fee's too. It's like a nightmare just to be able to drive my own car (which is also currently...a nightmare)
