i am considering rebarreling my wheels and was wondering if this is common or if the original wheel manufacturer has to do this or what? thanks for the info.

OK...can anyone edumacate me on this one?

What does it mean to have wheels "rebarrelled"?

I tried to Google it and I got Google asking me "Did you mean Wheelbarrel?"...no, I didn't!!

And the only links I found actually referencing "wheel rebarrel" are threads from various forums with folks asking "Hey, where can I get my XXX wheels rebarrelled?"

I think he's talking about refinishing the barrel of a two or three-piece wheel.

It's going to depend on the model of the wheel. For example, not many people can work with Volk wheels because of the anodized surfacing.

For higher-end wheels, most local wheel shops will recommend shipping them off to a specialized factory.

well i had ye old wheel shop high polish them up a while back but now i am looking to increase my offset to make them more aggressive. i am pretty sure that re-barreling wheels is the process of changing the offset but irregardless this is what i am trying to achieve.

i want a more aggressive offset than what i currently have. i know i could buy a new set of wheels but was wondering if it would be more reasonably priced to just get this done on my current wheels. thanks for the info i will ask ye old wheel shop since i work like a half a mile away from there (unfortunately)... i mean its beautiful out this way

just get new lips and reassemble the rims.. in the end youll just end up with wider wheels and bigger lips.. however, itll be easier and more cost effective to get new wheels rather than dumping more money into your wheels now.. contact mc3 in florida.. they were good at corresponding and explaining the process

I contact MC3 to get rebarrel. They quote me on my ssr around $1,000 for two barrels only! Your better off getting new wheels.

yeah... unless it was like 150 or less per wheel i was prolly gonna lean towards new wheels in the first place. i know a guy selling some wheels, i just need to sell mines first and then it will all work out.

did you ever sell yours AL??

not much of a market for some used 19's on CL in the DC area huh?

i am half tempted to throw them up on craigslist but i hate all the psycho people that call and show up from craigslist... "Will you take an old lawnmower for trade", no trades, "Well howabout a wheel barrel and some mulch", no trades, "okay $200 then... grrrrr

dude i live up and around on some freakin peninsula in annapolis... i can see the eastern shore from my couch but it still takes me 45 mins to get there ,, it literally took like 3 hours and 15 mins to get there and i drive a consistent 15 mph over. if i were north of b-more then yeah the city of philly shouldn't take more than like an hour and half to get there.

I live in Crofton, and work up in Philly a couple of times a month or so, never takes more than an hour and a half to get there. I go across the bay bridge and up across the eatern shore through Deleware. Its a straight shot, drops you off on 95 right after the Deleware Memorial bridge.

Back on topic, what size tires are you running on your wheels?
