Default Need help installing tanabe cat back in NJ

Hey everyone im HOPEFULLY picking up the tanabe hyper medallion for sale in the classifieds tomorrow (fingers crossed!) Unfortunately i have nearly NO skill when it comes to installing anything on cars. I was wondering if anyone in the NJ/PA area would be able to install it for me. I could take it to a shop but would rather not be out $100 and would like to learn how to do some things with my car from someone local.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

only 6 screws in total, i have the medallion myself and did not install it yet. only 2 bolts that looks like it will give us trouble will be the 2 right before the catalytic converter (fat honeycomb looking thing) there is massive rust and gunk buildup around the bolts and i know for sure i might strip it with basic home tools. going to torch the bolts on tuesday when i get a chance and see if that helps free up some gunk. pb blaster def wont work on the amount of rust i saw on my bolts ;[

I'm so frustrated because i realize how ridiculously simple the install is. Im not handy whatsoever (yet) but i still think it should be easy. I just wish it didnt require a lift to make it easy. Laying on my back trying to break bolts loose seems impossible.

what year is your car? if its a new model the bolts should easily free up. unlike mine a 02' and original bolts im going to need the torch method. its very easy just jack up the rear of your vehicle place the stands and take a peek under and youll easily see the 6 screws that can give u an idea as well if youll need the torch method or not..

definitely gonna need the torch method, so i might just leave it for a shop. Mine's a '98 that has survived 12 northeast winters

Car ramps and let some PB Blaster soak on those bolts for a few hours. Have a breaker bar handy and you should be super. Where in NJ are you located?

Totally get you on the not handy part and being a little nervous about messing with anything on your car. That was me 3 years ago. Learned a whole bunch since then

Im in central nj. Wish i had some lexus guys nearby that could come help my install it in exchange for lunch.

I'm thinking of asking my friends boyfriend who works on cars if he'd help me out. It should be simple enough but the bolts being rusted shut seems like itd be quite the obstacle.
