Question Any hookups for shocks & springs in NY?

Hello,

Does anyone have any hookups for aftermarket shocks and springs for 2003 GS430 in the New York area? I need to buy replacement springs and shocks ASAP. I can pay cash if that helps. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

Jim

I interested in KYB GR2 shocks and either Tanabe NF210 or Tein High Tech Springs.

kybs can be found where i stated before. As far as the springs those give a minimal drop I would consider the DF210s. Check the vendor forum or scour the net for sellers. I dont know anyone locally selling them.

I was going to get the Tanabe DF210 but I called KYB and the tech guy claims that the drop is too aggressive for the KYB GR2 shocks. The KYB GR2 shocks will not be able to handle it and it will bottom out and wear out faster.

I did check ebay/amazon and vendors but I was trying to save on shipping and also maybe get a little better deal if I paid with cash.

The guy at KYB doesnt know what he is talking about. I run air on my kybs and its fine. If you do the research you will see that the most common setup is KYBs and DF210s. Also KYBs come with a lifetime warranty. I ordered my KYBs online most of the sellers ship for free.

He also claims that if you lower your car than the warranty is void. He claims that they can tell by testing the shocks and looking for certain things when they receive it.

What is the cheapest price you seen the KYB's for and what site? Thanks

Ebay has some good deals on shocks but I would check out the Tein S-Techs and you can get those on a couple places.

www.intensepower.com
www.hopupracing.com
www.vividracing.com

I would not get the Teins on ebay. There are a lot of replicas of the Tein products on ebay and it is not worth the hassle.

Check ebay and amazon. I think that it was around 340-360 for all 4 struts. I doubt that they could accurately test if they were on a dropped car. The potholes in NYC really work a car's suspension so premature failure is possible due to road conditions as well.
