my wife and i have t-mobile g1 phones (still ) and since our 2 yr plan has been up for about 2 months we were considering our options. i almost upgraded to x2 new g2's 4 days ago at the mall but couldn't pull the trigger on about a $450 bill for the x2 phones. just found the link above on t-mo's news page and someone posted up how right now by calling t-mo, pressing 1 for already a customer who wants to upgrade, then after putting in your number, saying "contract", you will be connected to a customer service rep who will upgrade your phones for free to the g2 phones. total cost me like $5 for the shipping for x2 brand new g2's that were like $450 at the store.

only catch is that if i cancel in the next 22 months i basically have to pay back for the phone at $200 each. that seems perfectly understandable to me. just passing along some good news and not sure how long it will last.
