I drove my ride all the way to ATL and had no issues. As long as I have a spare tire I'm not too worried.
Someone mentioned there was a backway to get to VA Beach instead of going down that highway. Does anyone know that route.
The only back road I know from our part of the world up in MD is to take MD-301 to RT17 but that eventually takes you to I64 regardless. Also, it takes forever. But its a fun drive. The last time which was a couple of months ago, I64 was not that bad and I drove the IS. You just have to be very careful and alert with regards to pot holes.
The other way, where I bent my front rims that I took right after the holidays was the bay bridge route taking RT13 down. They were working on the roads and part of the road was still being paved, I hit that part of the road where the untarred road met the tarred road. However, I am sure those roads are squared away now and are very smooth. Also, this way you end up paying for tolls, but it is safer and more direct route into Va. Beach avoiding I64. It gets you right onto NorthHampton Blvd.
Trunkin should be able to provide us insight on the roads since he knows them better. Trunkin, please chime in...
The plan is to meet up with chance sat morning and roll with them. I have actually been impressed with the vredestines thus far hope they don t let me down!
Yeah, that sounds like a great plan!

I think I covered the routes. Unless someone like Truckin knows some other way that is better and safer.
i drive to VB at least twice a month and don't see the need to take back roads unless it's it was a long weekend in the summer time...but only to avoid traffic. as for the roads, i don't see any problems. my tires are pretty stretched and i haven't had any issues. if you really want to avoid 64, you can take 95 down close to petersburg and jump on 460 east. only down side to this is the slower speed limits.

Yeah, I am going to be taking the normal way down on Friday in the morning. The 460 east way is hella long. I would never recommend that.
Anyone know if i get to the show a little later if i can still get in and park with the NELOC guys?
You will need to bring 3 single hot chicks, a 24 pack of Corona, and a bucket of extra crispy. That's just for me...I don't know what the other guys will request though.
