Default DIY Brake Pads and Rotors Install on '08 IS 350

My 2008 IS 350 is now a bit over 56k miles and was bought new about 3 years ago. I've been told by the dealer on a few recent visits that I need to change all the brake pads and rotors. I've ordered Centric Premium Rotors and Posi-quiet Metallic pads from Partsgeek and they should be arriving in the next few days.

I've read through the DIY threads for the front brake pads and the rear brakes. I'm feeling comfortable about attempting to do the front pads (and hopefully rotors once I find a good DIY on that), but not the rears.

I was wondering if any other 2IS owners wanted to join. I'm in Burtonsville, MD.

make sure u used up all your rotors, most dealership tells you at the half way point and u still have half the rotors left.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to see if I Can find proper measurement information to look for in the rotors before I pull them off. I also need something to measure them - I think it's called a caliper.

The rears are very easy to do. the are almost the same as the fronts with the exception of two pins and two springs. Make sure you take a picture of the springs that hold the pins in place before you remove them. This will make putting them back on much easier.

^ I'm nervous about doing the rears after reading through this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...s-of-pics.html .

Seems a lot of people had problems with the calipers being stuck?

it is quite simple actually. I didn't do the rotors but I changed my rear brake pads. 30 minutes was all it took. we did it on the streets too. lol anyways I had a helping friend so it was easy. im not sure if its a little bit different from an ISF since they are brembos.

^Yeah I'm not sure. But with the tutorial that I linked to on the rear brakes, everyone for a page or two was getting stuck at one part and I don't want to deal with that.

Hopefully my brakes have arrived and I can start the install soon. I need to find a walkthrough on the 2nd-generation ('08) IS 350 Front rotor install first though.

^ Wow, thanks so much for the offer man, I appreciate it. Again, I don't think it's that I couldn't follow the instructions. The issue is what I would do if I'm dealing with that caliper issue that everyone's complaining about. That's what I'm nervous about.
