Is an '04 gs300 worth buying?
Hey NELOC brothers, I know I've been M.I.A. For more than two years but now I'm grooming myself to be able to start meeting the newer mems and reconnecting with OGs. But here's my question, I've seen a beauty of a gs300 in DE, its a 2004 and even though it looks really good it has 179,xxx miles on it. The person have been completely honesty with me and assured there's nothing wrong with it. Even said, they did the maintenance accordingly to the routine manual. The question is it worth the 5,900$ price tag...? They say 90% of the miles are highway miles. What should I do? If I get it I was going to get an extended warranty on it and take it to lexus... Feel free to drop a line

You should be fine these cars are built like a tank to last. Make sure you take care of all the necessary maintenance. Extended warranty should be around 3K or less if you have the cash flow go for it might come in handy - what company do you have in mind for the warranty?
Also, have an expert mechanic check out the vehicle prior to purchasing.

I have an '01 with 270,000+ miles, still going strong. I will still drive mine up and down the east coast with confidence this summer.
Have a quality mechanic check it out, and if so, pull the trigger if you like the car.

I do not believe anyone who says "mostly highway miles" . Everyone says that and many times it is not true. $5,900 seems a bit high to me with those miles unless it's something special like a sport design or has saddle interior. If you could get it for 5 grand and it runs flawlessly and has a clean body then I would say you are getting a very good deal. But be prepared to keep it for a long time, selling it a year or two down the road with 220k miles is not gonna be easy.
