Scott, you can take a look at my fmic once it comes in. If it looks pretty decent and works well you might just pick up one of those.

I plan on going na-t, either way tt or na-t the AEM EMS is still around $1400 I wish I could get it cheaper since I have my tax id and stuff, I wouldn't mind helping out if you want to diy, the ge block can handle more than 800whp gotham racing did it with they junkyard block I think it's making over 1000whp now. For the money your spending on the gte swap, and than get bored of the 400+whp than have to switch to single and we all know turbos aren't cheap you can have a na-t putting out 600whp just fine. If any of you have a account over at dfwmkiv.com here is a link to a na-t 700+whp sc300 fr sale:http://www.dfwmkiv.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3333

Cool

So I think I've arrived at a preliminary result.
  • There's one shop that was the best-priced, but I had to go chase down each and every part and make sure it's there and functional. And now they're shying away from performance mods.
  • So the next runner-up is a shop that does a flat amount for a swap. You drop it off one week, they source all parts (engine, harness, etc. - EVERYTHING), perform the swap and you pick it up afterwards. The more I've learned about this, the more I like the sound of that.

if you want to pay someone to do it for you, and are willing to leave your car with me for a weekend or two. hell Ill do it! you'd be free to watch everything get done, and save money just let me know when and Ill source a lift and bam! I did my 1j swap my self with no assistance and since have familiarized my self with jz engines really well. I'm an aviation mechanic for a living but this is my hobby. either way just giving you another option good luck with whatever you choose.

What a completely generous offer of time and expertise. Thank you for that.
Yet another choice to factor into this process that becomes increasingly complex and expensive once you commit to doing it and start the research.

If you want a complete 1000rwhp swap with a 6 speed (fresh rebuild last year that costed me over 2k), I got one for sale..it's still in the car and dynoed yesterday 750ish on medium boost. There's a few things I forgot to add to the list like aem 5 bar map sensor, etc.
