Hi guys, sorry traveling this week without a constant internet connection.

We don't allow any for sale posts in regional forums at all, including dropping links to 'hey look at my items for sale in the classifieds' or in forum signatures. Instead we added a required 'prefix' field in the classifieds so you can easily use the search tool to look for items for sale for your car (or across all classifieds) from Texas or other locations. As the seller you also have the option to pick your buyer and say that local buyers get preference .

The draft rules that sloooooow linked above were formalized and are posted as a sticky at the top of each and every classified forum and the moderator team spends a LOT of time enforcing them and trying to keep the CL forums clear of ripoff artists. It's not commonly discussed, but when members have unresolved transaction problems we do take action to remove their posting capabilities from the classifieds. We also ask for vouches on high dollar sales for appropriate, etc.

We do not have adequate staffing to also look over the all the regional and model forums to apply those same FS rules as well and ask that any sale-related posts go in the spot designed for them - the classifieds. Anything that gets posted elsewhere will either get deleted without notification or moved to the correct location.
