Ft Worth - Good shop for an engine swap?
I'm new to Ft Worth. My wife has a '93 GS300. She wants a new car and I am debating on whether or not to keep her car. Are there any good reputable performance shops around Ft Worth that could do a complete Aristo swap? Anyone have an idea of what I could expect to pay for this?

Anywhere within the DFW area is fine if they can do a good job.

diy guides are the very forum your on. most of the stuff is a matter of basic mechanics and processes that can be found on an repair or maintenance manual. depending how much time you want to kill I could do your harness for you and the rest is simple if you have a good understanding of mechanics. theres jobs that get the basics done with low emphasis on quality and those type of people charge you less but you get less the quality guys (few and far between) will charge a fat penny. thats why I take on my own because I know the quality of work I can perform and save money with good piece of mind. There maybe more members on the forums that would be willing to do it, check there rep and look at an exp. and maybe you'll get a better deal.

Dynosaur and GS are both good suggestions. You could try the guys up at Snap, but again the prices arent on the cheap side. They prefer to source motor/parts but the whole swap will probably run you close to 8k with them. Not sure if JPI is still doin swaps, but its at least another option for ya.

I've been pricing 2JZ-GE --> 2JZGTE swaps all over North Texas myself for a couple of years. DynoSaur ran about $8500 to get a GTE in there with the stock twins, USDM injectors and ECU work that fixes the low-idle issue. It's a "turn-key" kind of package they offer that takes around a week. They state their goal is to get you back your Lexus, still running reliably like a Lexus, with no decrease in accessories that work, etc. It sounded pretty good to me at the time - and at times still does.
But once you're done there, you're still left with side-mount intercoolers, stock twins, etc. It seems EVERYone feels the need to upgrade the basic GTE once they desensitize to the swap - and then they go with a big single turbo, FMIC, etc. including a piggyback/standalone ECU to get more performance moving forward. So it's likely better to get all that done at the moment you perform the engine swap, instead of later. So that means the ~$8500 is just a starting point.
This swapping stuff is SO expensive and intense. And you often end up trading stock reliability for more power. It's easy to see why so many go NA-T first/instead.
