I got pulled over last week in Plano by a State Trooper (supposedly for not signaling a lane change). He asked why I didn't have a front plate and I told him I thought the laws changed and they weren't required. He of course told me they were required, but I only got warnings so I don't know that any of that was legit. I honestly just think he was trying to mess with me.

One of my besties is a Lt. with a N Tx Sheriff's dept. He told me that his dept is not allowed to use "no front plate" as Probable Cause to pull you over. I have been pulled over one time specifically for no front plate but only received a warning. My SC is from Florida originally and doesn't even have holes in the bumper, nor will it as long as I can help it. It ruins the look of the car. I think it's ridiculous to have two plates anyway.

After reading this, I'm not sure I'm going to take this site's content as anything useful

Just got a ticket in my ISF for no front license plate in Universal City. It falls under "improperly mounted front plate" and was a $10 fix it ticket. Had to take pictures of both plates front and rear and hand them over with the money to clerk at courthouse. FYI he pulled me over for this reason only.

This almost got by me but happened to read in today's paper....and I've gotten warnings in the past. Now it appears to be the law.

So, what would you do when you have already had one? Now there are holes to contend with. Ideas?
I have an SC430 and I'd love to not have a front plate, although I have a vanity plate anyway.

So, I just heard on the news that the new law went into effect yesterday and you DO have to have a front license plate and the fine is $200. They said that before you needed one but that there were no penalties. Now, there are.
LoL - I've been looking at ways to fill those nasty holes all day. Ah well.

ROFL well that's great. I just bought a GS4 not 5 days ago and it has no front plate, just the rear. I still have to go register it in my name so I guess if I do get pulled over by Richardson popo, I have a valid reason for not having the front YET.
I'm going in to the DMV to get the car registered, I'll ask for 2 new plates assuming they don't have a problem with that. And here I was trying to figure out how to hide those fugly holes the front bumper had when I bought it.
