Do to wording in the new law. There is NO punishment listed for not having a Front Licence Plate as of 1/1/2012. The courts can't just "Make Up" a penalty either. If you did receive a ticket for No Front Plate you should fight it, and pay ZERO penalty.

I've never ever had one on any of my cars. Only once was i actually pulled over and that excuse was given as the reason for stopping me. Gave me no ticket and even though i've been pulled over many other times lol they've never even said anything about it. So i plead honey badger on the whole front plate thing.

I guess this means I can register my car once I move back to Dallas. I was going to leave my cars registered in Oklahoma to get around the whole front plate thing.

Who puts a front license plate on a luxury car... JS.. I haven't had mine on since I brought the car and passed numerous of cops head on... Also drove through Richardson and farmers branch fine =p

They still use it as an excuse to pull you over. It's might be illegal to do so even? They can't give you a ticket for it, but they will claim to give you a "verbal warning".

I don't understand why they would even pull you over now that they can't make money off of it. If they do, they're just wasting time/money...they could've gone after a speeder.

If you look "suspicious"(or even loud or modified cars) and they really don't have any other reason to pull you over for(good taillights, good insurance/inspection, etc), then they will use it as an excuse just to run your info.

I'd rather pay the fine, than deface my car(s) with a front plate.

Having said that, I have had enough speeding tickets to wallpaper my house (over the last 25 years), and only twice given a citation for the lack of a front plate. The officers were just giving me a special package deal at the time. Those citations were always dismissed anyway.

Currently driving a 2012 ISF with NO front plate...
