Thumbs up Install of JP Grounding Kit and Lucas Trans Additive

hello

my fellow North Easterners

i recieved my Jp grounding kit this week on the on the DEC22nd

i had some free time today so i thought i would install on my 1998 Lexus GS400

the only problem i encountered was the instructions lol

they were in Japanese

but i pretty much figured it out

disconnected the Neg cable mapped out were the wires were going to go and voila'

pretty much straightforward took her for a run and the few things i noticed were my idle was

definitley smoother and the car just felt a little quicker but i know this happens after

you take off the NEG cable but after i do a couple of hundred miles we'll see if that stays

hopefully it will

Now for the Lucas Trans Additive

this is something i noticed the improvement right away

my shifts were smooth the only word that came to mind was buttery smooth

i dont know if between the JP grounding kit and the Lucas product

they made my GS shift that much better but it made for me a huge improvement

i am very impressed with both products

i understand not everyone can justify the cost of the Jp grounding Kit

but there are cheaper kits out there tekk is one of them

i have used the Lucas product before in other cars but never in a Lexus GS

so this really impressed me

happy holidays everyone

Hey Johnny....

Glad you figured it out.

Im surprised about the Lucas stuff. I have it, but never put it in any of my cars. My father in law bought it for me and raved about it in his 92 GMC van with 200K, but i figured it wouldnt make a difference in our cars. Well......you convinced me...next oil change its going in.

Looks like you have been busy with some new toys for that beautiful Lex.

Ive had the urge lately to trade up from my GS3 to a blue GS4. None of the local dealers have them here. I remember when yours (before it was yours) was for sale and I considered it, but my daughter was just born at the time and didnt want to make any changes. Anyway...just figured id throw that in

Take care..........

Did you use the Lucas formula because your tranny was slipping, or just to make it shift smoother? I thought that stuff was supposed to be used only when tranny is slipping (like a temp fix) Also, when am i supposed to change my tranny fluid? Havent done since i bought my car back in August. Any suggestions? Prices? All help is appreciated

i used it for a couple of reasons

1. i havent installed my transcooler yet and this says it will control overheating

2. i wanted to see if it would make my trans smoother ...and it did

as far as your trans changes every 30,000 miles is what they call for
