Visiting New York: Need hotel recommendations
Hello New Yorkers..
I will be visiting New York for the very first time in my life in mid-December.
Here is what we're planning to check out:
1. Statue Of Liberty
2. Ground Zero
3. Rockefeller Center
4. Time Square
5. Subway system
6. Central Park
7. ?? recommendations
There will be a total of 8 of us (4 couples). We're thinking about staying in Manhattan...are we walking distance from the list above or am I way off??
PS..staying for 4 days.
What hotels would you recommend, looking for suite at a nice hotel?
Thanks in advance.

I'm from NJ I usually take the ferry into NJ which brings me to the Intrepid Museum it is on 38th Street. If you go onto NYC web page they will send you a free book it has maps and all the subway stops which would help you out a lot. It has everything that you can see in NYC. It also has coupns for resturants. I have never stayed in NYC too expensive for me. The last time I went I got free tickets to People's court. I do know that Ground Zero is not near time square. And NYC blocks are very long. Time square has the new Hard Rock Cafe that opened. And also check out Broadway they have some really good plays you can catch the matinee.

I'm not sure that you appreciate how large Manhattan is--you really can't be "walking distance" from all of the attractions (although you'll always be walking distance from the subway).
You want a nice hotel for mid-December in NY. If you're not booked now, you are going to have trouble finding a reasonable price for a weekend. I prefer midtown (you may want midtown west). I stayed in Le Parker Meridian this summer, which was nice. Hilton Towers on 6th Ave and Soffitel on 45th St are also nice. Hyatt Regency on 42nd by Grand Central is fair. Others I can't vouch for.
