Got my car detailed by Dennis on Saturday, and I can’t say enough about how great it came out. I’ll just let the pictures do all the talking.

Once again, Thank you Ankur! I appreciate the opportunity and your support!

For this particular detail, I started at 10:30am and ended around 10:30pm...
12 hours in total but, I took 1 hour for lunch and another hour to take care of a personal matter..
At 10:30am: After thorough inspection, I immediately noticed that the car needed to be wetsanded badly...The hood had a lot of holograms and marring so that had to be addressed as well...
Here are a couple of pictures for reference of what I had to start with...You can see the paint is incredibly dull from a poor paint job and lack of detail from the shop whom originally painted this single staged black onyx SC...

Here are some pics of the halograms on the CF hood and trunk...As you can see, the halos was pretty extensive and need some added attention as well...

First, I had to wash and wet-sanded most of the car with 2000grit which took about 3 hours...I took probably another hour or so getting rid of all the halograms on the CF hood and trunk...I used Meguiar's finishing foam pad (w8000) and Optimum polish via Makita 9227C rotary (speed 2) with meguiar's flex backing plate to fix all halograms...
Here are some in between progress pictures...
Half hood...

![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/pharmdhc/3a412aee.jpg)
Finished correction...

![](http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w108/pharmdhc/3da543ea.jpg)
After the car was thoroughly wetsanded, I used Meg's 7000 pad with Optimum Compound via Makita 9227C to level out all of the 2000grit sand marks...Being that the paint was black and I used a pretty aggressive pad and compound combo, the car had to be polished again because of heavy marring with Meg's w8000 at a low speed of 2 on the rotary...Last phase of polish, I used Merzerna's Final polish with PC and LC finishing pad to finish out the job...
For LSP, I chose to use a carnauba type wax (natty's blue) because I thought it works best with a single staged paint like 202 black onyx...
The job was definitely challenging being that it was black and needed some heavy duty correction....Being that I'm a perfectionist, I still see some areas where I can improve better but still a drastic improvement than what it looked like before....
Looking at the pictures again, the car has definitely come a long way!
Once again, I appreciate opportunity Ankur...

Rotary is definitely a worthy investment; given that you spend enough time to practice until you feel comfortable with certain products and pad combo...It is a lot smoother and has more torque than a typical random orbital like a PC...In the long run, jobs come out a lot nicer and paint correction is almost effortless once you have mastered a rotary...This detail would not have been possible with just an orbital...
