Sorry to say.....the dealership did not feel there was enough interest in the Fall Lexus meet. I went over the FB page and the postings on CL. We all know that when 50 or 60 commit, there's usually about a 25% drop rate. The dealership said that they would like to see at least 75 cars to make it worth opening up on a Sunday since they would have to staff the even or get volanteers from their staff. I suggested that we try again in the spring so there's a little more time to organize a bigger turnout and possibly more from the Toyota community.
I also think changing the date to later in Oct due to H2O had an impact since the dealership is trying to gear up for the year end.
Needless to say, I'm dissapointed, but not discouraged about how a spring meet is still possible. I'd rather do it right the first time and not rush it with the dealership with the potential of leaving a bad first impression with a less than anticipated turnout. That way, we have the framework for a once or twice a year meet.
