I got up this morning, cleaned my car and picked up soda/ chips/ popcorn, etc. I then progressed on my way to meet OneHOTSC400 and my brother, only to have my TRANNY START SLIPPING!!!!!! I have been hearing a whine coming from under my car that sounded like a belt or pulley, but I guess it was the gearbox! Checked fluid, full kinda dark, but not sludgy, and no leaks anywhere. and to make matters worse I JUST MOUNTED MY NEW WHEELS YESTERDAY!!!!! I had to take them off today, then remove my stereo box, and have my car towed from Brooklyn to Mass. I just dropped it at the dealer about 20min ago. I will go in the morning to drop the keys and find out my fate later in the week. i was anticipating this meet more than all of you put together!!

I would like to take this space to thank Dennis (ONEHOTSC400) for his support and commradarie(hope i spelled that right) today. I was an absolute basket case on the cell, but he came and met me (a complete stranger, that asked him to come AWAY from the agreed upon meeting place!). And he even took me to get tranny fluid and took a test run in my car to try and offer diagnosis. I believe this is the purpose of these forums, to foster a sense of brother/sisterhood and support one another, and he did just that, plus he wouldnt let me CRY!

Guys please keep me in your thoughts & prayers, I am as scared as Bill Clinton when the infamous "dress" surfaced

 

Steve, thanks for sharing some laughs and ES observations When I head up to Boston sometime this summer (I hope), we can definitely hold an ES meet or some sort; I really miss Boston. I owe you and Beth coffee too.

 

Hey it was great meeting you guys up at Bear Mountain. It was great seeing other Lexus owners and their cars. Can't wait for the next one. Maybe next time some more guys from IS300.net can show up.

Derrick, just want to emphasize again after the cell phone call that I'm sorry to hear the troubles with your GS, and I'm not surprised to hear of your growing anticipation for the meet since you sounded very excited the last few days. Good to hear Dennis helped you a lot through that terrifying situation. I do hope nothing is seriously wrong with your car, and that it will come back in one piece from the dealership. Good luck man!
