Default 96LS400 throwing P0773 and P1765

Transmission seems to be working fine. Occasionally it is a little difficult to get out of park. Fluid was changed a couple of years ago but filter is likely the original. The fluid does smell a little burned. I would like to take it to a transmission specialist in the bay area (SF down to SJ) and see what they say. The car is in poor shape (leaking oil from the main seal, and from the power steering rack, driver's seat is wrecked, etc.) so I don't want to pour a lot of money into it but with the Check Engine light lit I won't pass my next smog (2025). Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to follow up on this in case someone finds themselves in the same situation. In my case it was the switch behind the brake pedal that was malfunctioning causing the ECM to think there was a problem and threw the codes. Replaced the switch and the codes went away. Hope this helps.
