Default Good places to get stuff done in the Bay Area

Without a need for an official write up...just wanted to make a quick ref for our Norcal group regarding good places to get stuff done in the bay area.

Here's some on the peninsula divided by category

LIGHT TUNING/ACCESSORIES
Shop Name: MACH 3
Contacts: Ask for Johnson or Wally(owners). Some of the other staff are Ray, and Mike.
No: 415.594.0029
Location: San Francisco off of Highway 280 towards SF. Exit Ocean avenue west.
Comments: The place for every auto accessory you need. Steering wheels, rims, lighting, suspension. etc. Cheap installs if you don't care about cerfification or anything like that (which I don't)
Tell em Michael w/the green SC sent u =)

UPHOLSTERY
Shop Name: UNIVERSAL UPHOLSTERY
Contact: Ask for Carlos(owner)
No: 650.364.6073
Location: Redwood City. Take the Woodside West exit off of 101 towards San Francisco. Left on Middlefield.
Comments: Carlos's place does really nice/fair priced custom upholstery. He can get and do almost anything. He did my two toned black/tan interior. Tell em Michael w/the green SC sent u =)

AUDIO/VIDEO
Shop Name: VIP MOTORSPORTS
Contacts: Brad L. (co-owner)
No: 650.873.5522
Location: Millbrae CA. Exit Millbrae ave off of 101 towards San Francisco. Left on El Camino/Millbrae
Comments: USED to be called Audiomotion. Brad formed a partnership w/the guys from MAS Wheelhouse and formed VIP Motorsports. Really nice stereo install and good prices. They do everything else too these days besides aud/vid. I just got my stereo system done there when it was still Audiomotion. I haven't been there in years so I'm no longer a direct reference.

TUNING/HIGH PERF
Shop Name: EXACT MOTORSPORTS
Contacts: John and Sandy(owners)
No; 408.263.8100
Location: Milpitas. Main street off of Montague. Exit Montague from I-880.
The best tuner car garage around for pricing/performance. They do full car servicing as well as wheels/tires, suspension and lighting. John is fair and you can see his work.
A LOT of clublexus members seem to go here. Tell em Michael w/the green SC sent u =)

Shop Name: EXHAUSTWORKS
Contact: Todd (owner)
No: 650.591.7062
Location: Belmont CA. Exit Ralston Ave off of 101 and hit Old County Road.
Comments: The best bang for your buck exhaust place around. Todd's fair and does good work. Too bad but he doesn't do mandrel bending. Tell em Michael w/the green SC sent u =)

Shop Name: Nomura Tuning/Design.
Contact: Bruce Nomura
No: N/A. (someone have it? I lost my cell phone)
Location: Tracy. (I don't have directions..but everyone knows where Bruce is!)
Comments: Bruce..I think everyone knows. He does high end engine work/custom applications.
Enough said.

SEND ME SOME MORE PLACES...W/THE SAME FORMAT
Hope others can add to this thread so we can be a resource to one another for local work.

I updated this write up a bit. More concise. Anyone else want to help contribute?
Maybe this could be a sticky?

I'll give a thumbs up for Todd @ ExhaustWorks.
He's not quite a perfectionist when it comes to looks, but he gets the job done.
I'm getting windows tinted tomorrow.
I set an appointement but before I do it, I'ma take a good look around the shop to see if that's the place where I want it done.
If any of you guys know an awesome place in the Bay, please speak up.
Otherwise, I'll be letting you guys know how that went sometime tomorrow.

Thanks Mike but I'm looking for a place with long-term, exclusive tinting experience.
I spent about 5 hours taking off the stupid stock tint (didn't want the defroster ruined) so I really expect a phenomenal job now that I've put so much time into this.

Automall Tint Factory in Fremont. Right on the Auto Mall exit off of 880.

Ask for Sid. He is a very busy guy, but for a good reason. You have to make an appointment, so it might not work out for you.

Sid is a perfectionist, so the work is clean and the price is fair.

I've been bringing my cars there for 12 years.

He also owns California Sunscreen under the BIG Levitz sign off 880 in San Leandro. That's why Sid is busy, he's got two shops and tons of business.

Tell him Glen sent ya.

Hey Michael just wanted to let you know that your info is helping a lot... Right now I'm debating wether to have my car's suspension components replaced at the lexus dealer or at exact motorsports.. I talked to John on the phone and mentioned you and he seems like a good guy.

The dealer is quoting me $1200 for front ball joints/ control arm (it is only one assembly so it all has to be replaced) and the rear bushings.. Still getting a quote from John.. If you have any other reccomendations let me know.. Thanks,
- Suneet

Great team of installers there. I can't remember everyones name but the owner is Jeff Jones & one of the installers is Chris.

I can account for them, so can JunctionJS (John) and RayGS3 (Ray).

I second for that.

By the way, this list is good info for NorCal people.

Do we have any good body/paint shop?
