Default autox??

Having owned a new E-Shift IS300 for about 2 months, I went to an autox on Saturday 5/22. This one was in Marina Airport in Marina, CA (near Santa Cruz) and was organized by the BMW Car Club of America Golden Gate Chapter. Now I am not one of those gunho autox pros that have years of experience under their belt as this was the second autox event I have ever been to. Since the event was organized by BMW club there were lots of M3's there running but I have to tell you I was pleasantly surprised by the IS300's handling and I actually managed to beat a few M3's driven by hard core experienced autoxers. My car, being only 2 months old, is all stock but the handling is just incredible. It was so easy to keep the car under control and drive consistently run after run. In my practice I ran with the Track On, and after being more familiar with the course did I run with the Track Off.

I was the only Lexus car there so I am wondering if any fellow CL folks are into autox and where can I find other autox that have Lexus cas running in them.

that's awesome! imho i think the is300 is the car that's truely suitable for autox, it's small, superb handing, and the power is just good enough

the sc400 and the gs4, i think they are better for track

I used to autocross years ago. I was looking forward to the "Duel at DeAnza" to run my GS, but it appears that annual event is no longer happening (That's what I heard).

Too bad since I plan on embarassing some M5's with my GS.

I do have some resources for local auto x events and there is a possibility for us to maybe join up with the BMW club to run our cars. Oh Yeah !

If there is enough interest generated here, I will try to come up wth something.

Post here if interested.

SC would be ok, a slow spooling turbo I would agree.

AutoX? What's AutoX?
j/k

That would be somethng fun to do.
Usually the Lexi just cruise, so it would be something different as well.
