Too bad I have to work, I would have def gone. I went to that last year. It was awesome. Make sure you bring ear plugs The start of the race is just crazy.

you can spot a newbie when they cover their ears...especially in the grandstands. Last year this guy and his two girl friends were sitting in front of me. They were waiting with anticipation for the start of the race. After the first lap they had their hands in their ears looking at everyone else with ear plugs! :P

I got there around ten o'clock. I did call you but I wrote down the wrong number, I looked every where for about an hour seeing if I spot you but no luck. I did bump into kokonujic and his wife and got your number from them but my phone wouldn't work. After the race i was hoping to bump into at the winner circle around 2:00 - 2:30pm still couldn't. Sorry, it as a good race I will post some pics later.

yeah too bad, I saw kokonutjc in the morning. That's why I said to call me early cuz you can't even hear the phone while cars are on the track, plus I had ear plugs on !

Terrible accident with Dale Earnhardt, right in front of us during practice. I saw the car in flames and he wasn't out of the car yet. I'd say we were less than one minute from tragedy. Good thing he is OK with minor burns. I took pics with my cell camera, but not sure if I can download them. I'll post pics later if I can. The car was totaled.

I will probably go to the same race in October in Monterey. It will be a night race , COOL !

We might go the day before and do some stuff in Carmel , etc. I might try to get a group of us together.

I was at winners circle and met up with gsfour. I was in the grandstand looking down on the circle. We then went to turn three at the top of the hill and watched the Touring car race from there.

I just got home now 7pm !

You're lucky you live close and didn't go in the direction of traffic.
