Is that true in CA that our car front side windows cannot be tinted?

I just got a fix ticket becoz of that....sux

Don't they have better things to do besides giving out tickets?

I think you can have up to 70% tint on the front side
windows. Which is basically like having nothing.
I've gone up to 50% and had not have any
problems. How dark was your tint?

not very dark. the tint is from the previous owner so i have no idea what's the percentage

I believe you cannot have any tint on the front windows unless it came from the factory that way.

I thought most doctors will write you a prescription for window tints all around if you complain of bad sunburns on long car rides. Might not be true

and our glass is already UV coated, so i'm not sure if the "sunburn" excuse would work...

plain and simple, NO tints are allowed in the front of any cars here in cali at all, period. i have proved that. sorry ray, you gotta do the fix ticket now

that's why i never tint dark, 32% is already max for me, my is300 has 45% and i think it's dark enough already (you don't need super dark to block out UV anyway)

u can't tint the front but i did n e ways. but i only got about a medium shade up there. limo in the back so enough contrast i guess

It seems like most cops don't enforce this law. But, yeah its illegal to have the front windows tinted. A reputable tint shop would know this and at least tell you. But it's my car and I'll do with it as I please and risk the ticket.

That sux...I guess I have to peel the tint off. What a waste!

let me ask around and see if anyone know an officer who will just sign off the ticket.

In contrast to your paint, that tint is pretty dark and noticable. Sorry to hear about this Ray. Let me know if you need help getting the tint off.

i got 35% all the way around, sides and rear, pass by cops all day long. still no ticket and i live in a city where cops are known to be suckas... but i know one day imma run into a cop that will write you up for objects hanging from your rear view mirror... but YES, front window tints are illegal. who cares???
