problems w/ networking?

Default problems w/ computer networking?

i'm having problems networking my comps to share the internet, can anyone in the milpitas area assist me? i'm using a linksys router and modem, i'm getting single connection feed but i'm can't seem to connnect o my other comps. thanks. michael

Do your comps even detect that the router is present? If not then you might want to reinstall the driver, and check that its detecting the correct SSID.

are you using wireles or wired connections?
if only 1 computer is connecting to the internet...
is the dhcp enabled on your router?
are their enough IPs on the dhcp for your computers?
if you are using wireless...is the wireless enabled on the router?

well, i finally got all 4 computers working, the 2 wireless laptop and the 2 direct connect. now, .... i'm having issues with the 5th comp. which is running on a wireless pci card. i'm not getting any connection period. the double comp. icon has a big red X on it. ..... everything else is working properly, my modem, router, etc..... any ideas on the 5th one? .....i'm stuck.

Click on the double computer with the red x on it. Then go into Advanced. See if the box is checked for "Let Windows Configure ...." . Don't know the exact text but it's near the top. Try checking it if it is not already checked, then apply or ok and see if that works.

Is your wireless router broadcasting it's SSID ?
