Yeah I wouldn't mind the new LS (esp. since it will be super luxurious and high tech, and faster than the GS). Which flavor do you want: LS460, LS460l, or LS600hl? I was just reading an article on it, the Parking Assist sounds cool.

Saturday @ 10AM for me.
Questions to those who have gone to one of these before:
1) Does someone sit in with you when you drive?
2) How do they look upon agressive driving?
3) What does the course look like? Cones?
4) Time limitations?
Just looking to be properly informed before I do something....well....something.

1) No one sits w/ you, you can drive by yourself or w/ family/friends.
2) I've driven the cars fairly agressive but not real agressive, no one ever said anything. I think as long as you stay within the cones and don't do any 180's or 360's you're fine.
3) Don't expect much, the course is very short and you don't have much room to open it up. Think of it as going for a test drive around a block w/ a few curves thrown in.
4) Time limitations??? Heck you'll be done w/ the course in a blink of an eye. The worst thing about time before was the waiting in line to drive the more popular vehicles. (I thought I'd be waiting behind Henry in the LS460 line, but he's going on Sat like you).

Signed up for 9/30 @ 10 AM in Alameda; LOL--I know exactly where that location is...it's the same place where Mazda held their Zoom-Zoom Live event last year (and where they'll be having it again this October). And please...no wisecracks about attending a non-"prestigious" event like the Mazda one--heck, it's free, and I got to thrash the new MX-5.
I've never been to the Lexus event, but as far as the driving part of the event goes, I would suspect it would be similar to the Mazda one...namely:
1) No one (other than your buddies, if you choose) will be in the vehicle babysitting you;
2) If you run way off the course, run over a cone, spin out, or perform some other unsafe driving action...it's highly probable that they'll tell you to go home, depending on the severity of the infraction;
3) The course is typically marked off with cones; easier to see, and aren't as dangerous to the vehicle if hit...LOL!!!
4) You can stay all the way until end of event on the day you're scheduled for, but you're not allowed entry before your scheduled time. You can test drive the vehicles over and over...if you're patient enough to wait in line over and over again, that is.

2. At the last taste of lexus event they kicked out 2 people who hit the cones "too much"
3. its a huge empty parking lot, with cones. and the course is short
4. like people said earlier, its a short course. and cars will be coming up behind u.

People have told me they don't turn anyone away at the door, and that the reservations are just to get some headcount. Not sure if it gets really busy if they will let you in but you can be my guest if you want(haha). I'm going at 9 a.m. and here's to hoping they don't check my I.D.(stupid 21 years old to drive rule ).
